Walter-Kaitz Foundation GRANTS


The Walter Kaitz Foundation supports organizations that do good work and produce meaningful results in fostering professional opportunities for people of color and for women in the cable telecommunications industry.

We collaborate closely with our grant recipients to ensure our mission – to advance the contributions of women and multi-ethnic professionals in the cable telecommunications industry – is being served. The Emma L. Bowen Foundation

  • Summer Conference: An intensive, real-world immersion in industry issues and professional development strategies for students.
  • Link Mentoring Initiative: One and a-half day sessions that help students in selected states or regions establish mentoring relationships and learn through case-study assignments. 
  • Career Guide: Underwritten fully by The Walter Kaitz Foundation, it offers guidance toward professionals as they work toward management positions.

  • Rising Leaders Program for Mid-Managers: Provides leadership and career development guidance for approximately 40 women managers with 5-7 years of experience in the cable industry.

National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC)

  •  L. Patrick Mellon Mentorship Program: Recruits top-level, seasoned industry professionals to serve as mentors to NAMIC members.
  • Creative Summit Writers Workshop: Day-long workshop to further the talents of screen and script writers who are of color.
  • NAMIC Leadership Seminar: Brings together academics and practitioners to develop leadership skills for mid-level managers who are selected via a rigorous competitive process.
